What’s inside

Inside every certificate

A DGI report isn’t paperwork. It’s a stone’s identity, examined by hand, graded to the world’s standards, and kept on record for life.

10× magnification

Every stone is examined under a corrected loupe and binocular microscope.

QR verification

Confirm authenticity instantly against our live online registry.

Security features

Built-in safeguards on every report, designed to protect against forgery.

International grading

Colour D–Z and clarity FL–I3, aligned to global standards.

The DGI standard

Four layers of certainty

A grade is the beginning, not the end. Every stone we certify is identified, inscribed, sealed and verified, protected from our bench to the day it changes hands.

Identified

Several gemologists examine every stone, never just one. Trained eyes and the finest instruments must agree before your report is signed.

Inscribed

An optional Dia-Script laser mark on the girdle, your report number, or words of your own. Lasting proof that this is the stone you chose.

Sealed

The Diamond Seal locks stone and report into one tamper-evident capsule, it cannot be opened without showing it.

Verified

Every report lives in our registry for life. Anyone, anywhere, can confirm it in seconds.

Dia-Script

Laser inscription on the girdle, the report number and logo, or a personal message. Match the stone to its report at a glance. A safe, risk-free procedure.

Diamond Seal

The stone sealed inside a tamper-evident transparent capsule. It cannot be opened without leaving evidence, proof the diamond inside is the diamond we examined.

Appraisal

An estimated replacement value in US dollars, based on the current Rapaport price list, shown in figures and in words. An estimate, not an official evaluation.

An illustration of our examination workflow. Each item is graded by several gemologists using calibrated gemological instruments, kept on permanent record, and made available through DGI’s online verification. Values shown are a sample. Appraisals are estimated replacement values per the current Rapaport price list and are not an official evaluation.

Identification & analysis

What a stone reveals

A DGI report goes past the grade. Here is what our examination uncovers, and states plainly on the certificate.

Natural, lab-grown or treated

We determine whether a diamond is earth-mined or laboratory-grown, and detect treatments such as clarity enhancement or laser drilling, each stated clearly on the report.

Colour & fancy colour

Graded on the international D–Z scale, and fancy colours identified and graded, the hue and its intensity recorded on the report.

Cut & light performance

Full proportions diagram with polish and symmetry, and a Hearts & Arrows analysis where the cut earns it.

Imaging on every report

A photograph or diagram of the item appears on every report, together with an image of the Dia-Script inscription when one is present.

Gemstones & jewellery

Beyond diamonds, we identify and grade coloured gemstones and complete pieces: the metal, the mounted stones, and the jewel as a whole.

Reports & services

Six ways to certify a stone

A full laminated certificate. A card that fits a wallet. A laser mark. A tamper-proof seal. Take one, or layer them all. Built around the way the trade actually works.

Full Certificate

The complete record, every 4C, proportion and comment on a laminated A4, dressed in a folder worthy of the stone.

Mini-Cert

The full report, scaled down and folded close to card size, all the detail, less to carry.

Cert-Card

Every essential, the size of a credit card, slips into a wallet, or rides with the piece in the box.

Appraisal

A replacement value in US dollars, set to the current Rapaport list, written in figures and in words, so nothing is misread.

Dia-Script

Your report number etched into the girdle by laser, or a name, a date, a few words of your own. The stone signs its own identity.

Diamond Seal

Stone and report, locked in a capsule that can’t be opened quietly. Proof that travels with the diamond.

Reports in every size

Sized to the piece

Take the certificate in the format that fits, a full A4 dossier, a compact A5, or a pocket-sized A6. Chosen by the piece, by the parcel, by how it will travel.

The Diamond Seal

The strongest promise we can make about a stone. We lock it inside a clear capsule with its own report, and the capsule cannot be opened without showing it. What you see sealed is, beyond argument, the stone we examined.

  • The diamond and its report, sealed as one.
  • Tamper-evident, any opening leaves a trace.
  • A clear trust signal your buyers can see.

No. A DGI report proves what a stone is, its identity and its grade. It does not prove whose it is.

It means the stone was treated to improve how its clarity looks. When that is the case we say so plainly, in the report’s comments. Nothing hidden.

Yes. Every report states the stone’s origin in plain words, for example, “Earth Mined.” Tell us what you’re submitting and we’ll guide you.

Both depend on the stone and the services you choose. Talk to the lab, you’ll have honest timing and a clear price before we begin.

Often, yes, many insurers accept a gemological report for appraisal and cover. Confirm the exact requirements with your insurer.
